Today we explored the poem "It's a very odd thing, as odd as can be, whatever I eat, it turns into ME!" We wrote a supported CEAL paragraph as our summary SWYK today. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you will need to write a supported CEAEAEAL responding to the poem. Use the poem as your claim and then discuss the various compounds that make up cells and the compounds you eat. Use your CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS notes. Come visit during study hall or lunch if you have questions about this task. Remember to complete your NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE with your folks this week... due date is this Friday!!!
Today we explored how compounds found in living things (carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, nucleic acids, and water) are also found in our foods (either directly as carbs, fats, proteins, and water OR as building blocks our bodies can rearrange to make needed compounds). We took NOTES FROM THE TEXTBOOK and checked some food labels for their nutrients. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY print or copy THE NOTES on page 57 in your notebook and add the terms element, atom, compound, and molecule to your glossary. Monday we explore how "you are what you eat". Be sure to do the NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE!

Most science pictures I post are found from assorted Facebook science pages... too numerous to cite specifically and downloaded for "just the right time"... I am sorry for the poor citation example I am setting.
