Today we wrapped up our third (and final) body system packet. Interesting how all systems work together to maintain homeostasis. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you should finish up your packet work with a strong CEAL PARAGRAPH. (Joshua, Sasha, and Alicia ... you have been sick all week. Just watch this week's videos to get some learning and rest up! We will worry about your makeup work when you are healthy and back to school!).

Today we wrapped up circulatory work and started with excretory system. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY set aside a bit of time to work on the packet. Tomorrow we will finish the packet. Watch the videos below to understand about blood pressure, blood types, and more of what is happening in your body as you are sick!!!.
Today we began our new (and final) packet understanding all about our heart, blood, blood vessels, and the transport of oxygen and nutrients and removal of wastes. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can grab your packet tomorrow. CHECK OUT THIS OPEN HEART SURGERY GAME. More work tomorrow with the packets (and organs again!).
This week we have more systems to discuss: circulation, excretion, and the nervous system. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY watch the video below and grab your final packet tomorrow. Today we examined the organs from the cows and pigs once again! We also modeled the digestive tract (made poop) and discovered just how much air we can hold in our lungs. Packets were turned in today from all students unless absent at some point this week. They have homework this weekend to get the packet done while the rest of us have the weekend off. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you missed out on some fun exploration. Check out the videos below to give you just a bit more information about digestion and respiration. Your packet is due Monday (Avic... we can make a plan next week for your makeup work... just get healthy now). More body systems next week!
Today we reviewed the process of cellular respiration as we discovered the link between the digestive system breaking down food and the respiratory system bringing the oxygen needed to release energy energy energy! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY your packet is due tomorrow (was due today end of class) so set aside some work time tonight! We have some more exploration to do with digestive and respiratory systems tomorrow!
Most of us wrapped up the digestive content (and added William Beaumont to our GOSATOT) and began work with the respiratory system. Not caught up yet? Just breathe (get it?!?) and take some time this evening to work. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY I would update the GOSATOT and set aside half an hour to do some packet work.
Today we began our work with packet #2 Energy Use! This week is all about breaking down food (digestive system) and bringing oxygen in to burn the fuel from foods (respiratory system). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY I have your packet ready for you in class tomorrow. We do have an early out tomorrow so you can work on the packet at home.
