Today we used the microscopes and looked at animal cells. Tomorrow we shall look at plant cells. New trimester today! Planner check for November, too. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you missed another day with scopes. Hopefully we shall see you tomorrow! If not, have a great break and we will see you in December!!! (nothing to make up for these 2 lab days) Today we took a SWYK on cells. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you need to take this on Monday in class (the rest of us will be using microscopes to look at cells). Trimester 1 is done!!!  Fun to have a day of organized chaos (and no agenda other than checking in cell projects!). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY your project is past due! Turn it in! Tomorrow we SWYK and we have our last shot for a "3" on the notebook conference sheet.  Be sure to get the cell projects done tonight!

Today we continued our understanding of cell organelle functions. We also explored the differences between plant, animal, and bacterial cells. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY we added prokaryote and eukaryote to our glossary (word, phonetic spelling, definition, example&/or illustration. The video below can help you add these terms. Reminder that cell projects are due Thursday (even if you've missed school this week!)... GET THE TASK DONE! Today we spent the day reviewing the organelles of the plant and animal cells AND we added the analogies to help us hit the "4" on the cell project. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY be sure to watch this video and create a venn diagram on page 55 in your notebook. Check in with me (or any other Equinox student) for analogy work. You can also review the song lyrics from last week's posts as some of them do a great job of giving cell organelle analogies too! Reminder that cell projects are due on Thursday (even if you've been gone from school!) since end of Trimester 1 is Friday!!! Today we answered questions about the upcoming cell project; reviewed the parts of the cell, and added Robert Brown and Camillo Golgi to our GOSATOT page (if you didn't get them yesterday). Today was the last day for a "4" on the notebook conference sheet. Next week you still can earn a "3" as long as it's done by Friday! Still need one? PRINT THIS PAGE The first trimester is done next Friday! Finish strong with an amazing cell project! Today we were assigned the cell project. Project work is all to be done on your own outside of class (due Thursday, November 21st). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY look over the options for the cell project and start working! Remember tomorrow is the last day to turn in your NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE SHEET for a "4" in work ethic. Next week the value is a "3."
