Maybe you are feeling bored? Did you get a chance to complete the MERRY SCIENTIFIC CHRISTMAS quiz? It's fun... and more fun to TRY to get each wrong (100% wrong is still 100% right isn't it?).
Stop being a Scrooge Neil!!! For those of you who still believe FOLLOW THE SANTA TRACKER TONIGHT!
It is officially winter at 3:23 pm MST! Now we need snow for a white Christmas! Enjoy the time off to rest and relax and play and eat and just chill. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you still have to turn in your cycling of matter and energy dissection. I know that I wanted this work completed by 3 pm today however if you take time during YOUR break to do MY work I will happily accept it by January 3rd (without a late drop in work ethic). Enjoy your time off!!!
Today we worked on our CYCLING OF MATTER AND ENERGY dissection. Most of you still have work to do tomorrow. Remember you have class time to finish up tomorrow, but there also are fun activities to do as well. Be sure to bring earbuds for the bonus work! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you should login to classroom and spend some work time. Due date is tomorrow at 3 pm.
Today we explored one more energy releasing process: fermentation. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can PRINT OR COPY THESE NOTES on page 65 of your notebook and watch the video below. We also started a new writing task in google classroom. Tomorrow and Friday we have Chromebooks to continue (and finish) this assignment. Today we explored how much energy is stored up in food. We used an almond to heat up water (some even got to boiling!). Remember energy from sunlight is stored in plants through photosynthesis and then released during cellular respiration. Our almond represented a mitochondria burning fuel. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you need to watch the video below and add calorie to your glossary (add metabolism too while you are at it!). Tonight is also the last chance to finish the "You Are What You Eat CEAL" task. Tomorrow more writing! Today we had the opportunity to move molecules around just as photosynthesis and respiration also sort carbon dioxide, water, sugar, and oxygen. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you need to compare and contrast the who, what, when, where, why, and how of photosynthesis and respiration on page 64 of your notebook (we used a VENN DIAGRAM in class). You can join me during HomeBase tomorrow.to sort atoms if you'd like! Today we explored the who, what, when, where, why, and how of both PHOTOSYNTHESIS and cellular RESPIRATION. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can click the underlined words above and print (or copy) the notes for pages 62 and 63 in your notebook. We will be comparing/contrasting the two processes on Monday so you can catch up then as well. Videos below give a great overview of the processes.
