Today we explored the carbon dioxide chemistry of life. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you missed some fun... bummer. Nothing to make up (but be sure the mold lab conclusions are done!).

Today we explored the organization of living things AND how the microscope helped us know about cells. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY and you still need to finish the conclusion for the bread lab be sure to finish by Monday or setup the plan to stay after school on Monday. If you are in period 2 or 3 you need to come in at lunch or after school next week to get your zoom notes (nope... can't copy nor print). I'll see you next week!!!
Today we explored a bit of how life is organized. Periods 4, 5, and 7 used the iPads exploring Tick Bait's Universe and Scale of the Universe 2. We discovered there are lots of little and big things in our universe! (Periods 2 and 3 had the assembly so they will explore tomorrow!) IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you may visit my classroom during study hall, at lunch, or after school to explore the apps. More with organization of living things tomorrow!!! Today we wrapped up the conclusion work for our Please Pass the Bread lab. Some of us finished the CEAL conclusion on loose leaf and already turned it in, some need to finish this weekend, and others maybe are typing to print and turn in Monday. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY check the details for the analysis and conclusion HERE. Completed conclusions are due MONDAY!
Today we worked on our analysis questions for the "Please Pass the Bread" lab. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY we are wrapping up the conclusion tomorrow. You can get caught up in class and finish this weekend. You also can answer #1-4 in your notebook on page 34! (we had mold grow on 8/9 of the bread slices with moisture and NONE grow without!)
Today we assessed what you know (or don't know) about living things. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you have a SWYK to take when you get back and a characteristics cube to finish up tonight (Elise and Cielo don't need to worry about the cube since you have been gone for both of the work days for this task, but DO STUDY all the characteristics, needs, vocabulary, and Giants in Science for life and living things!). Tomorrow we wrap up the "Please Pass the Bread" lab.
Today we finished our characteristics cubes (finish tonight if you are not done). We also wrapped up key terms for our glossaries: organisms, cell, unicellular, multicellular, stimulus, response, development, spontaneous generation, controlled experiment, autotroph, heterotroph, habitat, and homeostasis. Do you know who Francisco Redi is? How about Louis Pasteur? Look them up (and add to GOSATOT)!!! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY review and be ready for the SWYK! Today we started a fun project to illustrate the characteristics of living things. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can check in during Study Hall to get a cube template. Tomorrow we will finish the cubes, be sure all vocabulary is in our glossary, and make sure our GOSATOT is up to date (yep... a work day for LIFE). SWYK on Wednesday!
Today we wrapped up our needs notes and some glossary work. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you will need to plan some extra time with me next week either lunchtime, study hall, or after school. This weekend I am checking notebooks for midterm. Next week we are hoping for mold! Have a great weekend! |
