Today we finished our notes on the chemical compounds in cells (adding water AND vitamins) and we worked on our CEAL. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you will need to check Google Classroom for the assignment. Due tomorrow by 3 pm! Do you need to finish the NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE SHEET? Maybe you didn't do a cell project so you are building an atom model? Remember tomorrow is the last chance for any trimester 1 work!!! Remember tomorrow is our TEAM BREAKFAST too so bring your food in the morning!!!
Today we continued with notes on the organic molecules found in living things (carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can watch the video below and PRINT OR COPY THESE NOTES. We will add water to our notes tomorrow in class! Last few nights to finish up the NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE!!! Today we zoomed in from cell organelles to the molecules and compounds and atoms and elements that are found in living things. We did some textbook reading and solo note taking. We also added ATOM, ELEMENTS, COMPOUNDS, and MOLECULES to our glossary. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can watch the videos below and add your own notes to page 50 of your notebook. You can also come in during lunch, after school, or study hall to use my textbook (maybe check one out?). We will discuss more about the compounds found in living things tomorrow. Last day to turn in NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE SHEETS is this Friday. You also should remind your folks to check out the SIGN UP FOR FRIDAY'S TEAM BREAKFAST.
![]() Today we reviewed cell organelles and their functions as we acted like a cell! Wow did we have some bossy nuclei! The DNA/chromatin instructions told the ribosomes to write protein messages to send to the rest of the cell to do their job! Mitochondria picked up oxygen and carbohydrates to give jumping jack energy to the cell. Water allowed the cytoplasm to flow flow flow. The golgi picked up those protein messages and the lysosome recycled them for use once again by the organelles. Thank goodness the vacuole had baggies to pick up any food, oxygen, and water needed by the cell. A fun day BEING organelles. Tomorrow we zoom in further to the molecules that make up cells! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY be sure I have your NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE SHEET It's only worth a "2" this week... worthless after Friday! Finish those conference sheets and any cell projects if they aren't yet done!!! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you missed a chance to see plant and animal cells again with the scopes. Nothing to make up. Enjoy your break!
![]() Today we observed some plant and animal cells using the microscopes. Tomorrow we will make our own slides and look at more cells. Some of us still need to finish our NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE SHEET with our parents tonight (still can get a 3 in work ethic if turned in tomorrow). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you missed out on another scope day. Bummer... nothing to make up. Be sure your cell project is done and your notebook conference is signed and turned in... they are both late now! Today we took our SWYK on cell organelles. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you need to make up the SWYK when you return. NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE SHEETS should have been turned in today for a "4". You still can turn them in Monday or Tuesday for a "3" in work ethic. Short week next week! We shall look at cells with the microscopes and then we zoom in further to explore those molecules of life! Today we turned in our cell projects. We also spent review time for the cell SWYK tomorrow. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you need to turn in your project upon return. Tonight is the last night to finish up the NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE SHEET for a "4" in work ethic! Some of you still need to complete your cell project tonight! Scroll the past week's posts for review ideas too!!! |
