Today was a busy day of making up work or playing biology games on the ipads. Some of you still have CELL PROJECT WORK to finish over break ... some of you still need to retest your scopes work (we will use scopes when we return to look at cells) ... and some of you have nothing to do but enjoy the time off !!! I will see you 'next year' as we zoom into cells further! I am excited about the next two months' work!!!
Well ... for many of us our cell projects are in! Some of us need to wrap them up for best success tonight. Please be sure to FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS AND CHECK YOUR LIST TWICE so you aren't naughty but nice (and your project may be late BUT has all expected information!). Tomorrow we explore cells on the ipad (unless we need to retest our microscopes use or wrap up details of our cell projects before break). Today we took a SWYK to Show What You Know about cell organelles and their functions. Tonight you will complete your cell project to demonstrate your understanding of the cell organelles in another form! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE THE SWYK UPON RETURN. Please use the checklist on the bottom of the CELL PROJECT INSTRUCTION PAGE to double check that you have included all expected organelles (and none extra) plus have all the functions correctly listed. You can drop off projects first thing in the morning on the tables outside my classroom (make sure name FIRST AND LAST is on the project and include the key with all models!). Good luck!!! May the cell forces be with you! :)
Today we spent the day reviewing cell organelles and their functions: SWYK TOMORROW!!!
If you missed class today you should WATCH THIS VIDEO and you should REVIEW THIS GAME. Spending the evening working on your CELL PROJECT will also help with reviewing your cell organelles! CELL PROJECTS ARE DUE ON WEDNESDAY (yes... this Weds!) !!! Take this opportunity to have a fantastic project!!! Today we watched a video about cells and organelles and the diversity of life (The Magic of Cells). We also did some sorting work to match cell structure with cell function. This weekend is a great chunk of time to work on best success with your CELL PROJECT. Due for everyone on Wednesday, December 21st (band folks be aware... just because you are playing for Holiday Dinner does NOT give you extra day for work!). Hello orchestra kids (and anyone else wondering what they missed in class today)!!! You will need to watch the video below AND add prokaryote and eukaryote to your glossary! We also read pages 23 and 24 of the textbook and discussed the organization of multicelled organisms (cells - tissues - organs - systems - organism) compared with single celled organisms (thus the prokaryotic/eukaryotic video and glossary terms). We also reviewedorganelle jobs. You can practice with your own flashcards or check THIS SITE OUT!. Cell project is still due for you next Wednesday (no added days just because you missed class today!). ![]() Today we checked the jobs of the organelles AND we did some coloring of a cell diagram for both plant and animal cells. We also were assigned our cell project today (due next Wednesday). Tonight we need to do some planning of what project to choose AND setup a plan of action since all work on the project is done outside of class! Woa!!! If you missed class today you can grab a picture from me of the cells upon return OR YOU CAN PRINT THIS ONE... You can also grab the cell project page from me upon return or YOU CAN PRINT THIS! Practice knowing both parts and jobs!!! |
