![]() Today you began understanding the parts of the microscope (diagram worksheet) AND reinforced the information from Discovering Cells (crossword puzzle). Tomorrow is a day of chemistry but on Friday we revisit microscopes. BE SURE TO ANSWER ALL WORK THAT YOU CAN ANSWER (a few questions are understandable... a blank sheet is not). Friday we will answer those questions. Do you have your current event done? DO IT! Do you have your THIEVEs work done? DO IT! Do you have the End of section Q's done? DO THEM! Notice a theme here??? ![]() Today we explored the power of magnification. If not for the tool of the microscope we wouldn't know the amazing world we can't see with our own eyes. Finish your THIEVEs notes on Discovering Cells. Notes on pages 35-37 and End of section Q's on loose leaf. Maybe you can summarize that current event as well? Sigh... Explore these pages: The Scale of the Universe (like Tick Bait today... I showed you a bit of this after you put the ipads away) and the Powers of Ten video which shows from the cosmos to quarks... yes it's an old video BUT it's good! Tomorrow we learn the parts of the microscope... Pages 6-13
Discovering Cells HEADING
HEADING
etc. etc. until all sections are "notes"... Monday is the due date... final draft of Needs of Seeds lab (how about the class data?). No exceptions... if no final done then I will take your notebook and grade the rough draft work for the lab.
Did you like today's Ted-ED? Watch again! THIEVES work for Discovering Cells will continue in class on Monday... Maybe you are eating chips?... watch THIS ... way cool.
No tricks here... your Needs of Seeds Lab is indeed due on Monday!!! How's it going with typing? You get your very own Cells book today in class... we will cover and then start THIEVES work on Discovering Cells.
![]() Tonight is the night to begin typing (or neatly writing in ink) your final draft for the Needs of Seeds lab. You have all the rough draft work DONE (well... you should after today's conclusion work). Some of you may need to add a writers touch to the introduction or maybe continue details for your procedure... but overall you have all the components of a good rough draft all set and ready to go! IT IS OKAY TO HAVE TYPING HELP FROM PARENTS! Of course practicing yourself is one way to get faster and better at typing, BUT if you have a willing parent (maybe a "clean out the dishwasher for typing my lab" trade is in order?) they can certainly help you... you already have all the words written FOR them to type, right?!?! Those of you shooting for a "4" in work ethic doing a powerpoint, prezi, or science report board need to remember all the steps of the wheel as you do your razzle dazzle... Did you need to see all the results again? HERE is the notebook for the class data... HERE is the "green sheet" if you lost/forgot it... Have any other questions? Send me an email or ask tomorrow in school! Final lab is due MONDAY (no exceptions)... ![]() Today wraps up The Needs of Seeds data collection. Tonight you need to work on your analysis questions. Tomorrow we will do conclusion work when we have ALL the classes' data. Final lab will be due NEATLY WRITTEN IN IN or TYPED next Monday... I am so excited for our results... aren't you??? (if you just can't wait you can peek at this) Okay this is just fun... open the link and move your mouse...
