Chicken wing dissection in class... Maker's Fair field trip when not dissecting a chicken wing (or having a study hall). Not a bad Friday! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you could check out HOW TO DISSECT A CHICKEN WING. Otherwise nothing for my class to make up (unless you need to finish the packet for support, movement, and covering).

Today we wrapped up our first packet on support, movement, and covering. We also checked out some awesome organs (hearts on valentines... cool cool cool). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you need to make sure your packet is done and turned in when you are back to school. You won't get the next packet without turning the first one in!
Today we discussed the integumentary system (AKA your skin). We also explored the importance of sunscreen in protecting skin from UV rays (they cause aging, sunburn, and damage to your DNA). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you should set aside 15-20 minutes to work on your packet. Watch the video below and WORK ON YOUR CEAL. Tomorrow we will catch up missing packets and explore more with tissues and organs!
Today we reviewed the skeletal system work so far in our packet AND we began work with the muscular system. Tonight you may enjoy some muscle for dinner! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY set aside 15 minutes to work on the packet (look up whatever you need to) and remember you can always come in at lunch tomorrow to catch up on the activities and use the textbook. Tomorrow we explore the skin. The following videos explain movement with skeleton and muscles AND previews the chicken wing dissection.
Today we began our packet work to understand functions, structures, and even some problems of the skeletal system. Tomorrow we will add muscular system information. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY come grab a packet in HomeBase tomorrow and know you are one day behind. I am sure you will catch up by Thursday's due date!
Today we explored the organization of human bodies. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can watch the video and PRINT OR COPY THESE NOTES in your notebook on page 87 (if you are writing them and you need to roll onto 88 you are good in the hood to do so!). Today an introduction to the systems of the human body! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you have no worries!
Today we took a SWYK on all cell processes (wow). Some of you did very well... some of you had a few errors... most all of you know some of the science we have been studying! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you may come take this SWYK during home base, lunch, or after school on Friday.
Today we used oreos and jimmies to model the phases of meiosis. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY bummer for you. Everyone needs to review all materials we have covered since we began discussion of the characteristics of life and the cell theory. Tomorrow a big SWYK with NO NOTES! Today we reviewed the steps and events of meiosis. We also had an opportunity to wrap up the WRITE IT! task from last week's cell division stations. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you likely will miss out on the modeling activity in class tomorrow unless you can get all caught up during study hall. Wednesday is the final SWYK for cell processes (review your whole notebook from the characteristics cubes on!)... no notes for the SWYK! Show What You KNOW!!!
