Today we took a SWYK ON CYCLES IN ECOSYSTEMS. We also updated our notebooks AND turned in missing work. Some of you still need to wrap up work from this week. Plan to come at lunch, after school, or during HomeBase study halls next week. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you could choose to answer 2, 3, or all 4 of the SWYK ON CYCLES IN ECOSYSTEMS questions on loose leaf sheet of paper.

Today we had some vocabulary work time (and extra time to be sure all cycles notes AND energy pyramids were completed). I'm back tomorrow for the SWYK! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you will want to work on getting THE GLOSSARY TERMS IN YOUR OWN GLOSSARY. Review the week's posts, too. Today was a work day to wrap up our energy pyramids project. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you will want to come in for extra help during study hall OR you will spend your glossary work time tomorrow on the pyramid. Remember we will Show What You Know of cycling matter and energy on Friday!!!
Today we reviewed energy transfer within food chains and webs. We also began a really cool project which will turn into an actual pyramid!!! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can try these instructions but maybe best to check in with Ms. Hartney when your return? Tomorrow we complete the pyramids! Today we explored how energy is cycled in ecosystems. We also discussed energy pyramids. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can PRINT THESE NOTES or copy them into your notebook on page 66. Tomorrow you will begin a creative project which illustrates the energy pyramid! Fun stuff!!! Today we explored how producers, consumers, and decomposers not only recycle matter in ecosystems but also energy. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can PRINT THESE NOTES or copy them by hand on page 65 of your notebook. Monday we will continue exploration of food chains and food webs. Reminder that NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE SHEET is now worth only a "2" (better than zero though!).
Today we explored how nitrogen is cycled in ecosystems. Tomorrow we will add energy cycles (food chains and food webs). Did you finish your notes? Watch this video for review AND check your google classroom for another review opportunity. You will get a bonus work ethic score if you watch the video and get 100% on the questions!!! Plus, you will have the chance to review cycles of matter... what could be better than that??? Your NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE SHEET is due tomorrow... show off your work! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you should definitely review the google classroom AND the video below!!! Today we continued exploring the cycles of matter in ecosystems. Yesterday we discussed the water cycle (evaporation from sun's energy, condensation into clouds, and then precipitation to complete the cycle). Today our focus was on carbon and oxygen cycling in ecosystems. Producers, consumers, and decomposers all use carbon and oxygen in their life processes (and in building their bodies!). Tomorrow we will explore how nitrogen is recycled in ecosystems. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you will need to check out a book to complete your notes (water cycle on p. 60 in the notebook; carbon/oxygen cycles on p. 61). Remember your NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE SHEET is due Friday... take time to show your work!
Today we began exploring how water, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen are recycled in ecosystems. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you may want to check out an Ecology textbook from me to catch up. We continue note taking tomorrow, so you may catch up just fine! NOTEBOOK CONFERENCE DONE YET?
