Today we covered our new textbooks with paper book covers! THIS GUY gets it right. I have books for you if you were absent. Tonight you need to finish YESTERDAY'S work if not yet done (explore THIS LINK AND COMPARE AND CONTRAST THE INFORMATION WITH THAT OF TICK BAIT). Tomorrow we shall begin learning about the cell theory and work on our note taking skills. You can complete your CONFERENCE SHEET tonight or tomorrow or this weekend BUT I need them Monday since parent-teacher conferences are Wednesday November 9th. Share what you have been learning and set some goals. Lost yours? PRINT THIS

Today we explored Tick Bait (TB's Universe on the ipad) and answered some questions about why she is named Tick Bait, listed 3-5 things smaller than a cell, and summarized what you learned in the app. TONIGHT'S HOMEWORK IS to explore THIS LINK for more information on the scale of the universe and then add a number 4 to your Tick Bait questions (page 46 in your notebook)... #4- Compare and contrast the two explorations (Tick Bait vs. Scale of the Universe 2)... you could use a venn diagram or narrative to answer this new homework question #4. I shall check for the homework doers during tomorrow's class! If you were absent today: You will simply explore THIS LINK and write a list of 3-5 things smaller than a cell and THEN summarize (5-8 sentences) what you have learned about exploring the Scale of the Universe 2. Write your answers in your notebook on page 46. Video below explores the concepts of zooming in and zooming out as well. Tomorrow we dive into cell theory! Today we had a transition day between units... How scientists think and work is over and CELLS has begun! New clocks for the new unit (period 7 recently changed so stays the same) AND reminders to those who have not finished the Needs of Seed lab to finish up... it's LATE! You have until Wednesday after PRIDE to get them turned in. Finally we discussed the overview of what's coming in science for the year. Check in with me during study hall tomorrow if you were absent to get more details about ZOOM IN/ZOOM OUT for notebook notes. |
