Tonight we will study for tomorrow's SWYK and possibly get the SAFETY CONTRACT signed. I would encourage you to review THIS POWERPOINT, challenge yourself with THIS POWERPOINT, and play a few web games to review: LAB SAFETY JEOPARDY or this MEMORY GAME (forceps not tweezers though!!!). Study!

Today we reviewed lab equipment AND discussed safety in the science lab. Tonight you need to get your SAFETY CONTRACT signed (both you and parent need to sign!). Tomorrow we review for the SWYK. You should review THIS POWERPOINT OF LAB ITEMS. You could review THIS ONE AS WELL.  Today we learned the many tools we will use in the classroom while studying life science this year. IF you missed class today you can review the PowerPoint below and PRINT THIS PAGE for your notebook (we drew a picture, named the tool, and wrote the use for each in our notebook pages 10-13... you can put this page on 11 and call it good!). We will discuss safety in the science classroom tomorrow! SWYK Friday! 
 Today we discussed the steps of science (AKA the scientific method). We setup the wheel in our notebook ... if you were absent today you can PRINT THIS WHEEL AND TAPE ON PAGE 9 or you can visit me during HomeBase study hall and create your own. You will also need to PRINT THESE NOTES FOR PAGE 8. We shall discuss lab tools and lab safety this week with a SWYK on Friday about the steps, tools, and safety of science! Tomorrow we will wrap up the seating chart and discover the benefits of working WITH our partners. Open House tomorrow night! PLEASE come visit your Team Paideia teachers with your parents! Friday we delve into science!!!  Today you had the chance to Show What You Know about life science. It's okay that you don't know much... YET!!! Tomorrow you need your 3 subject notebook so we can setup our science notebooks for the year!  Today we shared our bags with 5 characteristics about ourselves. A few of you will need to share on Tuesday because you were absent or we ran out of time... Be ready to roll first thing Tuesday!!! Any supplies still needed? How about signed internet information page? How about any other shopping? Enjoy the weekend!  Today we learned a bit more about how to do science this year. We turned in our signed internet info sheet (You didn't??? Do it tomorrow!). We also discovered 5 characteristics about Ms Hunt. Our homework tonight is to put 5 representative items of 5 of our characteristics into a bag to share tomorrow. Start with a strong work ethic 4!!! Next week we setup the science notebooks so be sure to get your shopping done!!!  |
