Today was a day to catch up and explore. Finish the Superpower paper FIRST; DNA models next; check MMM results/brackets (turn in your bracket today for bonus play); and then explore LEARN GENETICS BASICS. Next week we will continue with our understanding of protein synthesis. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY follow the above list of tasks. Conference sheets are worth a 3 all next week. Today we explored how DNA codes instructions. Those instructions build proteins. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can print (or copy) THESE NOTES into your notebook (page 104 or 105 ... whatever is open). Tomorrow is a day to explore and/or finish up some work! Today we modeled DNA. We also discovered just how frustrating following directions, cutting, and pasting can be as well. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you will need to make your DNA model. Come in during lunch, study hall, or after school to finish this task. Remember your Superpower science work is due by Friday AND the conference sheet for a 4. Today we discussed the structure and code of DNA. We also added some Giants of Science who discovered the DNA double helix. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can print (or copy) these notes for your notebook page 103. We also have a CONFERENCE SHEET due Friday for a 4 in work ethic (next Friday for a 3). Today we did a lot of review, wrap up, and preview work. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY be sure to finish your Superpower Science work if not yet done. We also added a new conference sheet for you to complete with your parents (grab one when you return). We ALSO set new clocks (get it from me when you return as well). We made it through two trimesters; only one to go! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can work on your Superpower Science task over the weekend or next Friday in class (yes... it will be "late" but hey, you were absent!). We also had opportunity today to explore a few things. Check Google Classroom for the announcement and details.  Keep up with your Superpower Science task (check Google Classroom). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY login and spend a bit of time. I am grading this task as the first task of the new T3, so if you are not able to finish by Friday, March 6th at 3:00 pm you are still good... next Friday we have classroom chromebook time for exploration (and finishing this task). Tomorrow we are in the library once again!  Today we began our Superpower Science task. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY check the assignment in Google Classroom. Watch the overview video first, then take the survey. Researching tomorrow as well (in the library space ... not the classroom this week).  Today we explored global transmission of disease. Don't panic ... just wash your hands. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you missed a SWYK on body systems. You will take it tomorrow in class before you start your superpower science task. Bring earbuds and meet in the LIBRARY! Today we discussed our immune system and staying healthy. Coronavirus is the news topic these days so how scared should we really be? DON'T WORRY ... TRULY. Wash your hands, drink plenty of water, sleep. Your immune system is on the job! IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY it is likely that you are battling a pathogen! Rest and get better. End of the trimester is this Friday so you don't have much time to make up any missing work (like the homeostasis CEAL).
