Today we worked on the flipbooks. INSTRUCTIONS Our goal was to complete interphase (page 1), prophase (page 5). metaphase (page 10), and anaphase (page 15). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can work on the flipbook tonight to get caught up. tomorrow we will have a work day to wrap up the basic pages and some of you will choose to go for the "4" and fill in the in-between pages. RESOURCES
Today we took some notes about cell division, we checked in with Tim and Moby about mitosis and cell division AND we setup our flipbooks (period 7 will have ready made flipbooks tomorrow). No worries for homework tonight UNLESS your gummy conclusion isn't yet complete. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY print THESE NOTES (page 79 of your notebook) and visit me during homebase to read the textbook.
... but first we took a second look at our gummy conclusions and decided they needed some work. Be sure to include specific data measurements (starting mass, ending mass, percent change) as well as EXPLAIN the science behind the increase (detailed explanation of osmosis). We then did an activity to introduce cell division. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY be sure to give the gummy conclusion a second look! Today we assessed our understanding of diffusion and osmosis. We also wrapped up conclusions for the gummy osmosis lab. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you will need to come in during Tuesday's HomeBase (or lunch) to take this SWYK. Add selectively permeable, diffusion, osmosis, passive transport and active transport to your glossary as well. I will be collecting notebooks for midterm check next Friday. Today we found out just what happened to our gummy bear (they SWELLED UP!). We also explored how osmosis is important in our everyday life. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you will need to get the second day data when you return and write up the conclusion. SWYK tomorrow on diffusion and osmosis. Today we continued our exploration of diffusion and osmosis. We took some notes and setup a lab. We will find out what happened to the gummy bears tomorrow AND review for the SWYK Friday. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you will need to get the data tomorrow and PRINT THESE NOTES for pages 76 & 77. Today we explored more with cell membranes and started understanding diffusion and osmosis. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you missed a bit of reading together (and more ipad exploration). WATCH THIS
Today we explored more about the size of life and explored cell membranes with the iPads. This week we will explore cell membranes and how materials move into and out of cells. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY check out the video below. Is your Meaningful Months calendar is complete (color too)? |
