Today we collected data for the mice in a forest environment. Wow... rough to be a white mouse here! Tonight you may work on your conclusion. Remember in a science conclusion the Claim is simply restating the question (How does variation of color in a species affect natural selection?). Be sure to use specific Evidence from the lab (ration &/or percentages) as well as specific vocabulary in your Analysis. Tomorrow we shall wrap up the lab AND discuss extinction. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you missed the concluding data for the Nature at Work Lab. Some of you missed both days, and some only missed one. IF you missed both days you should watch the video below to learn a bit about how adaptation and evolution occur in nature and click here to explore more about Rock Pocket Mice and how they adapt and evolved. Our lab demonstrated exactly what we see with the Rock Pocket Mouse! If you only missed one day of the lab be sure to check in with me at lunch or study hall for data to use.
I needed to adapt and evolve the original lesson plan for the week when we set up the field trip for next Monday.
We will NOT be doing a fossils lab this Friday after all! (but that's okay!)
