We had our last classroom work day to finish our wonderful papers for superpower science. Due date is tomorrow 11:50 pm (but no more class time to work). Today we discovered first March Mammal Madness results... antlion won the first wild card battle. Maybe you are ready to join the bracket madness now (maybe you still don't care to... and that's fine). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you will want to login and work on your Superpower Science. Some of you didn't finish the survey when you were IN class Friday... get that done! Tomorrow is the last day in class for work on this assignment. Due Thursday. Conference sheets can be turned in by this Friday for a "4" in work ethic as well (due by NEXT Friday).  Today we continued with our Google Classroom task: Superpower Science. Hopefully you have your survey and introduction CEAL done by now and maybe have watched the videos at least three times for notes. Sadly science ruins our fun and the reality of these powers sure isn't worth it. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY login and spend some time with this task. Conference sheets are due Friday, March 22 (by this Friday, March 15th for a "4" in work ethic).  Today we began research about superpowers. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you can login to Google Classroom and check out the task. We continue work on Monday so don't worry if you can't get work done this weekend. All March Mammal Madness brackets do need to be filled in before Monday's wild card between antlion and tiger beetle. Remember this is a totally optional task to fill in a bracket!  Today was fun. We had to solve puzzles/challenges related to the human body. Good thing we made it out AND earned some bonus points. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY there isn't anything to make up. End of trimester is tomorrow and today was last day for any work to come in. No homework to do tonight so go to the play! Today we took a SWYK to show what we know about human body systems: functions AND structures. We also checked Google classroom for a new task. I encourage you to pick the wild card winner! Watch the videos below to get more information on the characteristics of antlions vs. tiger beetles. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY you will need to come in and take the SWYK during lunchtime!
Today we did many activities to explore our nervous system. Tonight you need to review the functions of each body system for the SWYK tomorrow (no notes... show what you KNOW). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY review your system functions and a few organs for each body system to be ready for the SWYK. Friday is the end of the trimester so all late/missing work must be turned in no later than Thursday to allow us time to grade and update PowerSchool.
Today we learned a bit more about our brain, spinal cord, nerves, and senses. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY be sure to ask your neighbor what we learned so far. Tomorrow we will do some activities in class to help explain how our nervous system and senses work!  Today we turned in our packets (with a well written CEAEAL about homeostasis). We also started exploring the Nervous System (remember the nucleus controls a cell like the nervous system controls the body). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY we will continue discussing the nervous system and senses next week so you can catch up on what you've missed when you return! |
