Tomorrow we shall wrap up the excretory system (just whiz through it really) and then next week the boss (nervous system). Be sure all work is thorough so we can move on! Conference sheets worth a '2' Friday!

Today we continued with our packet about digestion, circulation, respiration, and excretion. Today's topic was circulation. Some of you still need to do digestive work (I'd use 'hours' for my graph time interval) and then work on circulatory system tasks. Tomorrow we add the lungs into the mix and have a work day once again. I should have all chicken wing dissection questions AND all conference sheets by now... do I have yours? Today we began our new packet on Digestive, Circulatory, Respiratory, Excretory systems. IF you did not finish your last packet or your chicken wing dissection lab you didn't get the clearance to move on. I don't want any of you to bite off more than you can chew at the moment (tee hee!). Tomorrow we will continue with packet work and the circulatory and respiratory systems. Keep up so you don't fall way behind! Conference sheets have a value of a '2' after today... but still better than the zero in the books right now!!!
![]() Today we explored the tissues of a chicken wing! Pretty fun to see the skin, muscle, and bones from another vertebrate! Tonight you need to finish the lab conclusion for the chicken wing dissection. Will you go for the '4' and show your folks about tissues? Some of you need to finish your conference sheet still. Value tomorrow is a '3' but then drops to a '2' for the rest of the week until Friday when the '1' is the work ethic score. Still better than a '0'!!! Skeletal, Muscular, and Integumentary packet should be done by now and you are ready to move on! Digestion, circulation, respiration, and excretion are the topics this week! FUN STUFF!!! Today we explored the Integumentary System (our skin) and completed the HUMAN BODY SYSTEMS PACKET for the skin, muscles, and bones. Finish your packet this weekend if you are not yet done! Next week we will explore more body systems (hopefully look at tissues much more closely with some chicken wing dissecting). Your conference sheet is due Monday for a '4' in work ethic but then the score drops quickly to a '2'... yikes! If you need more information about your skin you may do a GOOGLE SEARCH ON INTEGUMENTARY SYSTEM
Today we reviewed the skeletal system and began our work on the muscular system! If you missed class today you need to do the work FROM THE HUMAN BODY WORKSHEET up through muscles (if you don't have your own flex grips you can squeeze a tennis ball and get the same feeling of fatigue or even open and close your hand fully for a minute...OUCH!). Need more information about muscles? DO A GOOGLE SEARCH ABOUT THE MUSCULAR SYSTEM. Tomorrow we examine the skin we are in! Conference sheet done yet?
Today we began our study of the human body systems with the SKELETAL SYSTEM. We were able to touch actual human bones and explore not having joints to move. We used the textbook pages 12-19 to help us fill in the information from OUR HUMAN BODY WORKSHEET (if you are not able to print you can either pick up a packet when you return OR do the skeletal system work on a looseleaf sheet of paper). Need more details? Search SKELETAL SYSTEM ON GOOGLE FOR VIDEOS TO EXPLAIN. So much information about our bones! Did you finish your CONFERENCE SHEET YET? Due Monday, March 14th! Tonight might be the right time!!!
Today we began our discussion of the organization of the human body from cells to tissues to organs to organ systems. IF you missed class today you can read pages 6-11 of the human body textbook AND copy or print this outline and add to page 107 of your notebook (if you write the notes it's okay to rollover to page 108 as needed). Tomorrow we study the skeletal system! Dem bones dem bones. Conference sheet done yet? So many layers of starting over and starting fresh! Trimester 3 kicks off today with a 'catch up notebook' 'switch out textbook' 'get conference sheet' 'review zoom in zoom out' kind of day. Conference sheets are due NEXT Monday, March 14th... you will need your awesome notebook and about 15 minutes of your folks' time to share your work and to set a new goal (great time to review all your classes too!). Tomorrow we dive into the Human Body Systems unit in earnest, today is just a preview. IF you were absent you will need to switch out your textbook AND pick up (or print) a conference sheet when you return. New is good!!! |
