Counting Turtles ...
Today we completed the data collection for the Counting Turtles lab examining how mark and recapture estimates population sizes. Tonight you finish graphs, analysis, and conclusion. If you need help with the lab just REVIEW THE ANALYSIS/CONCLUSION WORK. Some of us estimated different numbers of turtles in our ponds even though we used the same technique. It's important to remember that mark and recapture is just one estimation method (and it sure is better than diving in to count every single turtle). Some methods are better than others depending on the size and location of populations. If you need more explanation on sampling methods WATCH THIS. For those who MISSED TODAY'S LAB: review all this week's work and complete what you are missing (Powerschool is up to date) but don't worry about this lab. Tomorrow is a catch up day for all of us before we explore the organization of HUMAN BODIES.
